Updates

Updates

  • Node Type Annotations: Annotations now support nested collapsible groups and can show more than one example.

  • Annotation Validation: Near-miss annotation names are suggested, and malformed declarations are skipped instead of causing errors.

  • SQL Node Editor: Refreshed colours, and errors now appear as soon as a node is displayed.

  • Single Sign-On: Cleaner SSO settings layout, restarting SSO setup uses a fresh Auth0 link, and existing enterprise connections can be enabled for Transform orgs.

  • coa Version Warning: coa now warns when it is behind the app version.

  • coa describe: Documentation now covers Cloud Operations and SQL/YAML node terminology.

  • Nodes Tree: The Nodes tree uses a virtualized tree for better performance.

Bug Fixes

  • Deployments: Deployed nodes are recreated when a node type changes object kind, and views are recreated when an upstream column is renamed.

  • ID Allocation: Existing jobs, subgraphs, and node types are never overwritten when allocating IDs.

  • Validation: Targets that are not workspace nodes are no longer flagged as ref_no_link.

  • Databricks: The path is now carried from request credentials.

Updates

Updates

  • Node ID Location: The node ID now lives in Node Properties instead of the node editor header.

  • Hide Lineage Toggles: The Builder node graph has per-node toggles to hide lineage.

  • Copilot SQL Nodes: Copilot understands annotation vs. config mode for SQL nodes and refers to SQL and YAML nodes by those names.

  • Graph Layout: The graph view is upgraded to yFiles 3.1.

  • Subgraph Filters: Subgraph include/exclude filters are kept when you click in the DAG.

  • COA Execution Monitor: A new monitor shows COA execution progress.

  • CLI Node Versions: The CLI accepts any Node version from 20 up.

  • Larger Repos: Desktop handles larger repos with a new storage backend.

  • Desktop Certificates: Desktop COA processes trust the OS certificate store.

Bug Fixes

  • Node Type Switching: Empty dropdown values are kept when switching node type.

  • Run SQL Search: Ctrl+F no longer opens in the hidden editor while the run SQL modal is open.

  • View Recreates: Recreating a view at the same address no longer plans a drop.

  • Desktop Node Types: Node type IDs resolve from definition.yml, not the folder name.

  • Desktop Linux Preview: The Coalesce desktop application is now packaged for Linux distributions with AppImage and native Debian/Ubuntu (.deb) packages, including auto-updates.

  • Virtual Tree in Source Browser: The Add Source modal now uses a high-performance virtual tree, smoothly scrolling through storage mappings with tens of thousands of objects.

  • Marketplace Packages Discovery: Added coa packages list to inspect available marketplace packages and their latest public versions from the CLI.

Bug Fixes

  • Snowflake Encrypted Keys in Desktop: Fixed an issue where password-encrypted private keys failed to decrypt in the desktop application runtime.

  • SQL Parser Error Handling: Prevented repeating crash loops in the Builder when editing complex statements containing unresolved SQL expressions.

Packages

Snowflake

  • Base Node Types - SQL 2.1.0: Adds a SQL-first Dimension node type that builds SCD Type 1 or Type 2 dimensions with upsert, changeTracking, or lastModified merge strategies and built-in data quality tests. Also includes 2.0.1, where accepted and rejected values tests accept lists, and 2.0.0, which added a Work node type that declares its annotations in its spec.

  • Base Node Types - SQL Advanced 1.0.0: New package. Adds a Work Advanced Deploy node type for SQL Nodes that can alter, recreate, or drop tables, transient tables, and views on redeploy.

  • Streams and Tasks 2.8.1: Restores the Task DAG Custom-SQL node type. Also includes 2.8.0, which updated stage labels and added primary key support.

  • Dynamic Tables 2.1.9: Fixes deploys that add column comments or make several changes to a dynamic table at once.

Updates

Updates

  • Node Type Terminology: Node types are now labeled YAML and SQL across the app and coa CLI to match documentation.

  • Enterprise SSO Configuration: Org admins can now configure Auth0-hosted enterprise single sign-on connections directly from Settings.

  • Snowflake OAuth for Local Workspaces: The local coa CLI and Desktop application now supports browser-based Snowflake OAuth sign-in.

  • Local Workspace Names: Locally served workspaces now display their directory name in the canvas header and show the active profile in the footer.

  • Jobs Tree Virtualization: The Jobs sidebar tree now uses a high-performance virtual tree with inline renaming.

Bug Fixes

  • Graph Re-layout Loop: Resolved an issue where large workspaces entered an endless re-layout loop in the browser graph, and restored the layout loading indicator.

  • Multi-line Annotations: Line breaks in node type annotation descriptions are now preserved in the Annotations tab.

  • Warehouse Quoting: Auto-generated column transforms now use the target warehouse's native identifier quoting style, such as BigQuery backticks and Fabric brackets.

Updates

Updates

  • Node Test Results: Node tests now record failing-row counts for Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery, surfaced in run results and the CLI.

  • Snowflake OAuth in CLI: coa now supports browser-based OAuth authentication for Snowflake profiles via coa auth warehouse login.

  • Node Recreation Logging: Plan logs now provide clear diagnostic reasons when a node must be dropped and recreated.

  • Scheduled Job Warnings: Deleting a job that powers an active scheduled run now displays a warning to prevent broken schedules.

  • Local Credentials: Workspace profile management now includes local user credentials directly in the web UI.

  • Windows Installer Signing: Windows CLI and desktop installers are now digitally signed via Azure Trusted Signing.

Bug Fixes

  • Snowflake OAuth Redirect: Resolved an issue where Snowflake OAuth authentication failed to redirect properly during sign-in.

  • Join Tab Autocomplete: Fixed column autocomplete suggestions failing to populate on the join configuration tab.

  • Hash Column Popover: Corrected column source mapping in the hash column display popover.

  • Run Details Sanitization: Fixed environment ID parameter sanitization when loading run details.

Updates
Bug Fix

Updates

  • Source Node Mapping Column Sort and Filter: On Source Nodes, you can sort Mapping tab columns alphabetically or by data type, and filter by column name. This makes wide Source tables easier to navigate.

  • Column-Level Node Type Config Items: V2 Node Types can add toggles, dropdowns, text boxes, and tables as per-column options, not only node-wide settings. Each column keeps its own value in SQL annotations and Node metadata.

  • Circular Dependency Problem Scanner: The problem scanner warns when your graph has a circular dependency, so you can catch cycles before plan or run surfaces a cycle-detected error.

  • BigQuery Local COA CLI: The local `coa` CLI supports BigQuery Service Account profiles for doctor, init, validate, create, and run paths that were previously Snowflake-only.

  • Node Type Name on Node API: Node API responses include `nodeTypeName` so callers get a friendly Node Type display name for custom and package types without changing the existing `nodeType` field.

  • View Plan for Deploy Runs: Anyone authorized to view a deploy run can open View Plan for that run's executed plan. Plan access is no longer limited to the user who created the plan.

Packages

Snowflake

  • Create or Alter package 1.6.3: Removes the Treat NULL as Current Timestamp toggle from Create or Alter Dimension, Fact, and Persistent Nodes. When Last Modified is enabled, a validation stage stops execution if NULL values exist in the selected timestamp column.

  • Cortex 4.2.0: Renames AI_EXTRACT to Cortex File Processor, adds `AI_PARSE_DOCUMENT` and `AI_TRANSCRIBE` support on Cortex File Processor, and migrates legacy `SNOWFLAKE.CORTEX` functions to AISQL `AI_*` functions on the LLM Node.

Bug Fixes

  • Column-Valued Annotation Serialization: Column selectors in V2 annotations such as `@orderbycolumn` and `@lastModifiedColumn` write the column name instead of `[object Object]`, so committed SQL and redeploy comparisons stay correct.

  • Hidden Config Options When Parent Toggle Is Off: When a parent config toggle is off, dependent config options are hidden and their annotations are stripped from the SQL Editor so you only see settings that apply.

  • Add a Column With Sorted Grid: After you sort the column grid, Add a Column focuses the newly created column instead of the last sorted row.

  • Subgraph Double-Click in Scrollable List: Double-clicking a subgraph in a scrollable Subgraphs list opens the subgraph you selected, including when the Node column panel is open.

  • Corrupt Metadata Errors in Column Editor: When corrupt column metadata blocks a transform save, the Column Editor shows an error instead of failing silently with no feedback.

  • Run Preview Hotkey During In-Flight Runs: Pressing Ctrl+Enter or Cmd+Enter while a Node run is already in progress no longer throws an unhandled "Nodes are already running" error.

  • Bulk Source Column Remap With Missing Columns: Bulk remap source columns returns a clear error when the source step has no columns, instead of crashing.

Action required: Confirm your IP allow-list for Coalesce (US region)

Action Required

North American Transform Customers,

We successfully completed our scheduled outage this morning but some of our customers are experiencing job execution failures due to changes we made during the outage.

During the scheduled maintenance we took a series of steps to increase the scale of our cloud infrastructure, which is now fully utilizing all of our documented outbound network range for our Google Cloud us-central1 region. If you have a Data Platform network policy defined, please confirm and update your IP address allowed list to include the full set documented here under the “US | Google | us-central1 | Iowa” section:

https://docs.coalesce.io/docs/setup-your-project/setup-requirements/network-requirements

Ensure you have the full list configured, not only the addresses that are new to you. Coalesce may connect from any address in this range, and which one it uses on a given connection is not fixed. Allow-listing a subset can appear to work and then fail later.

We apologize for the disruption. Please reach out to our Support Team with any questions.

Updates
Bug Fix

Updates

  • V2 SQL Syntax Highlighting: The V2 Node editor highlights SQL keywords, types, functions, comments, Coalesce annotations, and Jinja template delimiters so SQL is easier to read while you edit.

  • Copilot Graph Search and Explore: Copilot can search your Workspace graph by Node name, fully qualified name, or description, and can run a read-only Explore subagent that investigates with read-only tools and returns a short digest in chat.

  • Copilot Opus Model Option: Copilot now has Fast and Smart effort modes, adaptive thinking, and read-only-by-default steering for mutations.

  • Snowflake View GROUP BY ALL: Snowflake View Nodes include a GROUP BY ALL configuration toggle. The toggle is mutually exclusive with Select Distinct.

  • COA Dry-Run Preview Status: `coa run --dry-run` distinguishes Nodes with no DML to preview (streams, dynamic tables, and views) from real failures, so managed objects no longer appear as red errors when the pipeline is healthy.

  • Run Details Step Duration: Run details show step durations in seconds, minutes, or hours instead of raw milliseconds, and sorting by duration still works.

  • Snowflake Comments During Plan: During plan, Coalesce can load existing Snowflake table and column comments from the warehouse. This supports externally managed descriptions without changing how you edit descriptions in the UI.

Bug Fixes

  • Business Key and Change Tracking Git Sync: Editing Business Keys or Change Tracking after the initial commit now updates the generated SQL so Git tracks the change and redeploy carries the new configuration to other Environments.

  • Copilot Storage Location Instructions: Copilot honors explicit storage location requests instead of substituting the dominant Workspace pattern, and rejects unknown`ref()` locations with a clear suggestion when possible.

  • Node Right-Click Menu Visibility: The graph Node context menu keeps a consistent width and shows all options, including Delete Node, without scrolling when the Node is selected.

  • SQL Parse Errors at Plan Time: When active SQL fails to parse, plan and deploy surface the parse error instead of compiling stale Node metadata.

  • Account URL Paste Handling: Pasting a full Snowflake account URL into Workspace or Environment Account URL fields strips the`https://` prefix and`.snowflakecomputing.com` suffix as you paste or type, so the saved value is only the account identifier.

  • Create Branch with Duplicate Column IDs: Creating a new branch from a commit that contains duplicate column IDs no longer partially checks out the branch.
